Canon octogonal en fer, avec visée, portant des poincçons de fabricant au tonnerre, platine à corps plat avec rouet extérieur avec ressort et couvre-bassinet coulissant, crosse en noyer en partie cannelée, et tiroir de réserve en bois, tiroir et crosse sculptés de volutes en faible relief, ainsi que sur le point d'appui de la joue, accompagnées d'un cerf courant et de la date '1667', détente, sous-garde en fer, baguette postérieure.

Dated '1667'
With slightly swamped octagonal rifled sighted barrel with maker's stamps at the breech (marks worn), iron tang, flat plain lock with exposed wheel retained by a bracket and sliding pan-cover, walnut full stock with fluted fore-end and sliding wooden patchbox-cover, the patchbox-cover and butt carved in low relief with scrollwork and on the cheek-piece with a running stag and the date '1667', set triggers, iron trigger-guard, bone fore-end cap, and later ramrod.
