Meiji Period (late 19th century)
Of high-shouldered ovoid form with a tapered neck and upright, extended rim, decorated in various colored enamels and widths of silver wire with sparrows among pomegranate branches heavy with fruit, all against a deep-blue ground, the rim enameled with a band of formal floral ornament and the foot ring with a band of lappets; mounts copper and silvered brass
