Lot Essay

Peng Xiancheng is a native of Chengdu, Sichuan. His paintings have been exhibited and collected throughout China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Working in a distinctive 'boneless' style, Peng favors traditional themes from the Tang and Song periods. Here he depicts the femme fatale Yang Guifei with her retinue, as described in the famous poem written in 753 by Du Fu.
