A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE ARCHAISTIC FACETED BEAKER VASE, FANGGU
18TH/19TH CENTURY
Each side of the flared neck well carved with upright blades, with similar pendent blades on the pedestal foot, the center section with large taotie masks reserved on a leiwen ground, with rows of notched flanges centering each side and at the corners, the mouth and foot rims with bands of key fret, the semi-translucent stone of pale greenish-white color
9 5/8 in. (24.5 cm.) high, wood stand, box

Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1950s, and thence by descent within the family.
