A RARE SIGNED TIMURID TINNED COPPER MIRROR FRAGMENT
SIGNED MUHAMM[AD], NORTH INDIA OR IRAN, 15TH CENTURY
The back engraved with a central star motif composed of two bands of interlacing strapwork surrounded by elegant scrolling arabesque, a band around this with meandering floral vine inhabited by birds, the border with alternating ogival and circular cartouches, the larger with inscription in naskh and the smaller with rosettes, the face polished smooth, slight distortion of shape
