Meiji period (late 19th-early 20th century), with signature Zeshin
Composed of five stacking rectangular containers with a flat cover, decorated in black, silver and gold takamaki-e with water weeds, all over a red-lacquer ground, interior red; accompanied by a second matching cover, signature on the underside of both covers
