Meiji Period (circa 1900), sealed Sakigake (Workshop of Namikawa Sosuke; 1847-1910)
The heart-shaped tray after a design by Watanabe Seitei (1851-1918) decorated in varicolored, wired and wireless enamels with two sparrows huddled beneath narcissus bowing under heavy snowfall, all on a gray ground, the reverse decorated in gold wire with pink cherry blossoms over a brown enamel ground; rims shakudo, inlaid silver seal mark on reverse
