The octagonal box set on four short, everted, pierced bracket feet and mounted on the cover with an octagonal iron panel decorated in gold, silver, copper and shakudo hirazogan, takazogan, itozogan and incised details with a frog sitting on a lotus leaf with insects buzzing above reeds, the outer edge with inlaid gilt geometric patterns, the sides of the box with rectangular panels containing plants and insects; the interior and rims gilt
