A NEW PORTABLE ORRERY Invented and Made by W. Jones and Sold by him in Holborn. LONDON, the hand-coloured engraved paper dial with calendrical and zodiacal scales, giving seasons, solstices and equinoxes, as well as the sizes of the planets and a comet, the tellurian above this on a multi-wheel geared mechanism, with engraved paper dials, ivory earth ball, ivory moon on inclined orbit, brass sunball and oil lamp; in a fitted mahogany case with pull-out box for ungeared orrery attachment, the planets and satellites in ivory, spare brass planet -- with The desctription and use of a new portable orrery... a 1787 publication by William Jones with two folding plates and 4pp. of his catalogue of instruments, in modern half-leather binding.
