The case of typical form, the moulded arched hood with pierced soundfrets to the frieze and sides, surmounted by giltwood figural finials, the trunk door with circular lenticle, on claw feet. The brass dial with cast figural spandrels to the angels, the silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, the brass engraved and matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring, sectors for day of week and month, two ringed winding holes, date apenture above VI, inscribed BERNARD SCALE AMSTERDAM, with silvered arche above the painted rolling moonphase, the eight day five pillar movement with anchor escapement, Dutch strike on two bells above; two weights and pendulum
