Arabic manuscript on paper, 372ff. plus 1 fly-leaf, each folio with 13ll. of black muhaqqaq, red and green rosette verse roundels, catchwords, playful polychrome marginal roundels marking various points of the text, sura headings in bold coloured muhaqqaq on polychrome panels filled with scrolls and issuing cusped arabesque panels into the margins, occasional sura panels in the margins, opening folio with panel of silver and polychrome illumination, following bifolium with sura al-fatiha and the beginning of sura al-baqara within ogival borders filled with scrolling vine and palmettes, colophon giving details of scribe, date and location of completion, reverse with further text in smaller naskh, in brown morocco with flap with stamped medallion and spandrels, white paper doublures
