QAJAR IRAN, 19TH CENTURY
Of onion shape with applied gold damascened plume holders, horns, ears and central spike, the front with stylised moulded nose and eyes, pierced nostrils and mouth and engraved moustache, the rear with inscription cartouche, edge of helmet with thick band of gold damascened decoration with flowering vines with inset floral cartouches, fine skirt of small interlocking rings, small area of corrosion affecting small section of decorative band and lower part of the inscription cartouche
