Of rectangular shape, the hinged cover and base with lotus-decorated bronze mounts to the corners and to the lock, the sides with large 'C'-scroll handles, deeply carved all over with numerous coiled dragons amongst leafy tendrils and scrolling designs, the top framed by four ruyi-heads to the corners, the wood of a rich golden tone
