Lot Essay

The only other comparable example of this pattern is an identical vase but with the reign mark written in two lines, rather than three lines as in the present example, within double-circles is in the Palace Museum Collection illustrated in Qingdai Yuyao Ciqi, juan 1, Forbidden City Press, 2005, p. 64, no. 21 (see fig. 1). No other examples appear to have been published.
