LATE MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
Of circular form the domed cover cast and gilt with a central Indian lotus floret surrounded by stems and smaller flower heads, the sides of the box decorated in similar fashion with scrolling lotus, all against a dark brown stippled ground, the recessed base with four-character engraved mark Hu Wenming zhi within in a gilt square
