The chain-embellished elephant with head lowered and turned to one side, the cloth draped over the body in cloisonne enamel with flowerhead patterns within overlapping cells against a turquoise ground, repeated as a design in wire inlay on the saddle within a red border, under a shaped rug enamelled with four bats on a turquoise ground, surmounted by a rectangular baluster vase with champleve dark blue taotie masks and dragon loose-ring handles standing on a double-lotus waisted base, all supported on a champleve light-blue waisted stand with double lappet layers above four ruyi scroll feet
