A FINELY CARVED WHITE JADE ARCHAISTIC VESSEL
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
Carved in the form of a ewer raised on an oval foot, the upper and lower sections carved in shallow relief with abstract archaic scrolls, with a double strap scroll handle on one side of the lower section and finely detailed phoenix with arched chest and back-swept wings on the other side below a similar phoenix suspending a loose ring at the rim of the upper section, its curved wing tips forming two small ovoid apertures, the translucent stone of white tone
