The upright rectangular panel finely carved in high relief on one side with two scholars and their attendant ascending a steep path through a mountainous landscape with pine, wutong and prunus, above them is a pavilion nestled in the hanging cliffs below the cloud line, the reverse depicting the scholars at the end of their journey, seated in an open pavilion between pine, prunus and bamboo, beside steep mountain peaks shrouded by swirling clouds and a waterfall in the distance, the semi-translucent stone with some opaque inclusions well incorporated into the design
