A carved ivory tankard
French or German, second half 19th century
The scrolled acanthus decorated lid surmounted by a boy with a fruit basket, above a tusk section oval body decorated with the mythological scenes of a satyr playing his flutes, a Centaur abducting a Lapith woman, Orpheus and Eurydice and the Three Graces, the acanthus scrolled handle with nude woman terminating in a lion's head
