Lot Essay

Beginning probably when Elias Haskett Derby's Grand Turk was painted inside a magnificent punchbowl in 1786, ships of the new nation were portrayed on Chinese export porcelain, but this puce tea and coffee service - certainly a special order - is apparently unrecorded.
