Lot Essay

THIS IS A FINE EXAMPLE OF FURNITURE MADE IN PORTUGAL DURING THE LATE 18TH AND EARLY 19TH CENTURY, AND MORE SPECIFICALLY IN THE IMPORTANT TRADING CITY OF OPORTO WITH ITS STRONG BRITISH CONNECTIONS SINCE 1717 AND SUPPLY LINKS TO OVERSEAS COLONIES, SUCH AS BRAZIL.
