Paulus Bramer, Amsterdam (b. ? - 1770), probably born in 1696, is recorded to be married in 1716, but the first record of his name is in an advertisement from June 1715, in which he offered various clocks for sale. Bramer was a very productive clockmaker who made watches, table clocks and longcase clocks. He is most famous for his complicated and ornate clocks some with musical movements and other complications such as moonphases and calendar-works. Even though his son Jurriaan (b.? - 1769) owned his own workshop, they shared the profits and signed clocks together.
