Lot Essay

Wu Deyi was born into a wealthy family in Guangdong. Like his immediate relatives, he devoted himself to painting and calligraphy from a young age. Wu Deyi was especially known for his paintings of birds and flowers, as well as landscapes. In his later decades he was very active as an art teacher.
