A SUZHOU AGATE PENDANT
18TH/19TH CENTURY
Of irregular rectangular shape, well carved utilizing the natural dark brown markings in the stone on one side with figures and a water buffalo in a landscape with a bridge in the foreground, the reverse with two further figures and a five-character inscription reading bai jian yue gong xian (pilgrimage to the Palace of the Moon) inscribed on a rock, suspended on a silk cord with additional Suzhou agate beads of various shapes
