Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with diamond hour markers in 1950 and its subsequent sale on 26 February 1951.

Consigned by a private this watch has never been offered at auction before and is distinguished by its very appealing, original overall condition. It is furthermore believed to be the only example of a reference 2461 in this particular configuration and featuring the retailer's signature Gübelin to appear in public to date.

Reference 2461 was launched in 1950 and is the successor of reference 425. The model is distinguished by its elegant design.
