A BRONZE MODEL OF A GUANDI ON HORSEBACK AND TWO GILT BRONZE IMMORTALS
16TH/17TH CENTURY
The legendary bearded warrior is mounted astride his caparisoned horse and cast in full armour with fiercely slanting eyes, one arm rests on his thigh, the other is raised as if holding a weapon; the gilt bronze figure of an immortal attendant with hair tied in top knots is wearing a celestial scarf and loosely draped robes with wide sleeves incised with flowers and scrolling foliage, she holds a vessel before her; a gilt bronze figure of an immortal attendant is cast standing on a plinth holding a double gourd vase before him, the details of his sashed robe are incised with scrolling foliage.
