AN UNUSUAL BRONZE ELEPHANT-FORM CENSER

The vessel is cast as a striding elephant wearing a 'jewel'-inlaid halter, and has an oval aperture in its back that is fitted with an oval cover pierced with two quadrilobed apertures in front and in back of the seated figure of a luohan, with a sword at his right hip and a vase-shaped incense stick holder on his back.
