A GOLD-SPLASHED BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER
18TH CENTURY
The compressed globular body is raised on three conical supports, and is cast in high relief on one side with a dragon pursuing a flaming pearl and on the reverse with a phoenix below the flared, arched handles. The exterior is irregularly splashed with gold in contrast to the olive-bronze patina. There is an apocryphal Xuande mark cast on the base.
