A RARE DOUCAI 'BAT AND CITRUS' BOWL
YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)
The deep rounded sides are delicately decorated with four pairs of iron-red bats alternating with four leafy branches bearing two yellow citrons, one of which is centered by a blue shou character. The center of the interior is decorated with five iron-red bats (wufu) in flight beside a fruiting peach branch growing from a cliff above the sea.
5 5/8 in. (14.3 cm.) diam.
