AN UNUSUAL YIXING 'ROBIN'S EGG'-GLAZED FACETED TEAPOT AND COVER
18TH CENTURY
Of faceted baluster shape and rectangular section, the body tapers on two sides to a shallow arched rim at the bottom, while on the sides with the faceted handle and spout the bottom rim is flat. The knob on the conforming, fitted cover is pierced with a vent hole. The exterior and base are covered with a finely mottled turquoise and blue glaze that covers a seal mark inscribed on the base.
