FIRST EDITION of this rare and detailed description of the Barabudur or Borobudur monument in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia, a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist temple with 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues. The Government of the Netherlands took a great interest in this monument and commissioned this publication based on a complete series of photographs taken between 1907 and 1911. (5)
