Lot Essay

One of the ownership inscriptions on the opening fly-leaf, which is partially illegible due to damage, gives the name of... ibn Muhammad Husayn Shams al-Din ... and is dated AH 106? (1650s AD). He was presumably the son of the owner of the seal whose impression is to be found here and also twice on the last folio of the manuscript.
