A FLAMBÉ-GLAZED VASE, HU
GUANGXU IMPRESSED SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1875-1908)
The vase has a wide body that tapers towards the quatrefoil mouth rim, and is moulded on each side with peach-shaped cartouches. Each side of the neck is applied with a lug handle. The vase is covered overall with an unctuous glaze of dark red tone streaked with dark mauve, thinning to a clear pale-blue colour at the rim, lobed edges and handles. The base is unglazed.
