A SELDOM ENCOUNTERED SET OF LARGE HUMOROUS PRINTS. Siltzer notes that Ackermann published this work with 18 plates, and that sets with 21 plates, as here, may be later; both versions are rare: the only example we could trace at auction is the Auchincloss copy, which appears to be yet another issue mixing both imprints and comprising 22 plates (sold, Parke-Bernet, 1967, sale 2543, lot 5). Siltzer p. 62 (the Ackermann issue).
