Edo Period (19th century)
Of rectangular shape with slightly sloped shoulder decorated with a cockerel, hen and two chicks in gold, red and black takamaki-e and hirame on a nashiji ground, the sides with flowers growing by a woven fence, the interior and base roiro and nashiji, fitted with a shallow boxwood tray pierced with a finger hole
