Contemporary green leather, sides panelled in blind, the upper side centred with the Russian imperial eagle in gilt, gilt edges, cream moiré silk doublures (extremities lightly rubbed). Provenance: Grand Duke Sergei Aleksandrovich (1857-1905; bookplate) -- Hammer Galleries, New York (Russian Imperial Exhibition label, partly removed).
FIRST EDITION. GRAND DUKE SERGEI ALEKSANDROVICH'S COPY. Iusupov's history of sacred music in Russia, including partitions for twelve songs. Grand Duke Sergei, son of Alexander II, was later Governor General of Moscow, and chairman of the Russian Musical Society.
