Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne, Vicomte de TURENNE (1611-1675). Autograph note signed ('Turenne') to an unidentified prince, n.p., 6 October n.y., 'je marche avec l'armée aujourd'hui, et irai loin au dela de duseldorf, et donnera[i] touts les orders possibles pour le pais de V.A. ', one page, 4to; with an autograph letter signed by his nephew, Frédéric Maurice, comte d'Auvergne ;
François de Lorraine, Duc de GUISE (1519-1563). Two letters signed to Sebastien de l'Aubespine, Bishop of Limoges, 6 March 1559 and 4 July 1560, the first referring disparagingly to Elizabeth I, 'Vous advisant que nous sommes bien empeschez de voir que ceste royne d'angleterre s'oublye tant, et qu'il faille que nous recommancyons ung mestier que je pensoys ne faire de long temps', together 2 pages, folio ; with an autograph letter signed by Charles III, Duc de Lorraine to the queen (Catherine de Medicis), n.d., on the assassination of the duc de Guise, one page, folio ;
and letters and documents signed by Louis XIII (1612), Louis de Bourbon, comte de Vermandois (1678), Louis-Alexandre de Bourbon, comte de Toulouse (1696), Jacques Necker (1777), Charles Emmanuel III of Sardinia (1768), Nicolas Ponce, Louis Philippe (1840), Queen Marie Amélie, Empress Eugenie (3), Ferdinand Esterhazy (the traitor at the origin of the Dreyfus affair, autograph note signed), Pierre-Napoleon Bonaparte (a sonnet on the death of Cavour, 1861, in Italian), Louis-Lucien Bonaparte, Albert I of Monaco, Pierre Loti, and other documents including two 'lettres de cachet' with secretarial signatures of Louis XV (1723) and Louis XVI (1785) and a notarial document of Ferrara, 1468, altogether approximately 32 items.
