19TH CENTURY, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK, INCISED 4
Of rectangular, baluster form, each side painted with a scene of Orientals at various pursuits, including a Chinese elder seated in a palaquined chair speaking to a child, a seated figure with an attendant holding a net to one side, a figure seated beneath a palm tree, an attendant holding a child before him, and a figure seated before a table with an attendant holding a bird on a stick, the square-section spout and upright brass-mounted handle with pink lustre panels moulded with foliate scrolls and heightened in gilding, the chain-mounted rectangular domed cover painted with a similar scene below the gilt square finial (small chip to upper rim, lower part of spout slightly reduced, slight wear to gilding)
