TWO CORAL SNUFF BOTTLES AND A TURQUOISE SNUFF BOTTLES
1730-1970
The turquoise bottle, 1955-1970, is carved on one side with a peony sprig emerging from rockwork. The first coral bottle, 1870-1949, is of rounded, rectangular form and finely carved with a taotie mask above a band of petal lappets encircling the base and below archaistic motifs encircling the shoulder. The original stopper is decorated en suite. The second coral bottle, 1730-1850, is converted from a pendant carved in the form of two monkeys, each seated atop a garden stool.
