A copper figure of Buddha
Nepal, 17th Century
Seated in dhyanasana on a lotus base with the right hand resting on his knee and the left in his lap and holding a medicine bowl, dressed in a sheer sanghati with the heavy folds draped over the shoulders and neatly arranged beneath the ankles, the face with gentle smile and heavy-lidded eyes flanked by pendant earlobes, the hair in tight curls over the ushnisha and topped with a knop, with gilding remaining overall
