LIMITED EDITION, one of 150 unnumbered copies. This rare publication features the Louvre's collection of drawings by Pisanello and his pupils. Though he did not create his own school, Pisanello influenced many of his contemporaries, and he is considered both one of the last great artists of the 15th Century Gothic style, and one of the early leaders of the Renaissance movement. His drawings included domestic and forest animals and birds, as well as detailed representations of costume and manners and represented a shift towards realism. (4)
