Lot Essay
This important service was presented to Empress Catherine II (1729-1796) by Frederick II, King of Prussia (1712-1786). The plates and flatware depict military encampment scenes from the Russo-Turkish wars and were painted by Johann-Baptist-Balthasar Borrman.
