A KUTAHYA POTTERY COVERED BOWL
OTTOMAN TURKEY, 18TH CENTURY
Rising from short round foot to wide rounded sides with separate domed lid with conical knop, the white ground painted in bole-red, cobalt-blue, green, yellow and black, the body with hanging palmettes separating floral blooms, bands of scrolling vine above and double blue bands on the foot below, lid with similar design with the palmettes inverted and the band of scrolling vine along the rim, double blue bands around the knop at the top, maker's mark in the form of a black spiral on the underneath of the foot and lid, minor hair cracks around the base
