SAFAVID AND QAJAR IRAN, 16TH-19TH CENTURY
Of various forms carved in coloured hardstones, comprising a large octagonal seal with nasta'liq inscription around a lion and sun motif (shir-o khurshid) with praises to 'Ali; a possibly jade pendant inscribed to one side with Qur'an CX, sura al-ikhlas, six rectangular intaglios with religious inscriptions; and eight circular intaglios and seals, three giving names of owners, one intaglio repaired, otherwise in good condition
