COLT, NEW YORK CITY, SERIAL NO. 64827/' FOR CIRCA 1856
With octagonal sighted barrel with single line 'ADDRESS SAML. COLT NEW YORK CITY', associated cylinder and arbor-pin, framed engraved 'COLT'S PATENT', iron grip-strap and trigger-guard, and plain ivory grips, the barrel, frame, grip-strap, trigger-guard and rammer each engraved with Gustave Young style scrollwork inhabited by a griffin-head, the serial numbers beneath the barrel and frame each stuck with an apostrophe mark (engraving worn, some wear and discolouration throughout)
