A DEHUA BLANC-DE-CHINE FIGURE OF GUANYIN
19TH CENTURY
The bodhisattva is modelled with a serene expression on her face. She is seated with her right arm resting on her raised right leg, holding a scroll in her left hand, and wearing long flowing robes. There is an impressed four-character seal mark at the top of her back, reading 'bo ji yu ren', which can be translated as 'virtuous like a fisherman'.
