AN INSCRIBED AND DATED BLUE AND WHITE TRIPOD CENSER
WANLI PERIOD, DATED TO THE 39TH YEAR CORRESPONDING TO 1612, AND OF THE PERIOD
The censer is potted with a bulbous body and a waisted neck, supported on three detachable legs modelled with animal head feet. The exterior of the body is decorated with a cartouche containing a long inscription, surrounded by dragons amidst floral scrolls, flames and clouds.

The inscription states that the censer was produced in winter time during the thirty-ninth year of Wanli for the temple of Longxing.
