A FAMILLE ROSE ENAMELED OCTAGONAL GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
IMPERIAL, PALACE WORKSHOPS, BEIJING, QIANLONG ENGRAVED AND ENAMEL-FILLED FOUR-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-95)
It is of squat octagonal shape with a convex panel to the front and reverse each decorated with two boys at play in a rocky garden setting, all in reserve on a pale blue ground. The side panels are each decorated with a stylised floral design on alternating blue and yellow grounds. With a gilt metal stopper.
