TWO BLUE AND WHITE BOWLS AND TWO BLUE AND WHITE DISHES
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The first is decorated with winged dragons, the interior with a carp amongst waves surrounded by lotus decoration. The second is decorated with the Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang, on scrolling foliage above a ruyi-head band. The third is a dish decorated with two striding dragons, the interior with a similar dragon roundel. The fourth is a smaller dish decorated with a scrolling floral design, the interior with a carp leaping from swirling waves in a roundel surrounded by a lotus band, the glaze finely crackled.
