A CARVED AND PIERCED GREYISH-WHITE JADE MONKEY GROUP
18TH CENTURY
The large seated monkey is carved with one leg tucked under its body clutching a leafy peach on its knee, another leafy peach rests on its other leg. Its young is seated next to it grasping a flowering leafy sprig of prunus blossom that trails in low relief across the large monkey's back, the pale greyish-white stone has russet inclusions.
2¾ in. (7 cm.) long, with a wood stand
